Private Practice

Rebates and HICAPS

Most health insurers pay a rebate for Dietitian and Exercise Physiology services. This means accessing our service is more affordable if you have Extras Cover.

Andrea also accepts Medicare funded Team Care Arrangements and GP Management Plans for chronic disease. This is not a bulk billed service and a gap will be payable on the consultation day.

HICAPS allows for on the spot claims with Medicare and Private Health Insurers.

Exercise Physiology Services

Why use an Accredited Exercise Physiologist?
An AEP is a university qualified allied health professional, who specialises in clinical exercise interventions for people at risk of developing, or with existing chronic and complex medical conditions and injuries. AEPs prescribe exercise to help the body move efficiently, so that movement is free and flowing. In this way movement can become more enjoyable, improve physical performance and potentially reduce the risk of future injury.

Andrea has developed particular interest in helping clients with:

  • Sports performance (including strength and conditioning)
  • Chronic pain (including Musculoskeletal, and Fibromyalgia)
  • Osteoporosis prevention and management (return to movement post fracture)
  • Cardiovascular health
  • Diabetes and metabolic disorders
  • Weight management

Health Risk Assessment

Why invest in a health risk assessment?
Cardiovascular Disease (heart attack and stroke) remains the number one cause of premature death in Australia. According to Diabetes Australia, 2 million Australians are at risk of Type 2 Diabetes with up to 58 percent of cases being prevented or delayed through early detection and lifestyle intervention.

Identifying risk factors enables the health professional to tailor your nutrition and exercise program to improve your risk profile. By adopting healthy lifestyle changes, chronic disease can be prevented and in some cases reversed.
